Crabby kid....
Recently my 13 month old daughter went from being the most happy go lucky baby to miss crabby pants! She only wants me to hold her like all the time & if my husband holds her she screams bloody murder! She also recently changed her sleep habits. She is now getting up at 6:30am instead of 8:30am. I would love for her to go back to 8:30am, but nothing seems to work. Someone suggested to me about putting her to bed an hour earlier, but wouldn't that make her get up at 5:30am? Or would it just give her that extra hour of sleep & maybe she wouldn't be so crabby? What are your thoughts out there about what is going on with this usually happy go lucky baby of mine??
My maltese/poodle mix just got spayed today and I am heartbroken!
My maltepoo just got spayed today and I honestly am heartbroken. She is my first puppy and only 4 months old. Before today, she was my happy-go-lucky baby--always jumping around and busy, busy, busy! But now she is just laying down (understandably after such a major surgery) and every time she fidgets, she yelps in pain (because she's accidentally rubbing her incision). I feel SO guilty for having her spayed, but I know that it was the right thing to do. Can anyone offer any words of encouragement to help me through this? Can you give me an idea of how long it will take her to begin feeling better? I am coming to tears while writing this--thinking about the pain my baby is going through. Thanks.
God saved my baby in my womb from a HORRIBLE accident!
Hi my lotters! I just like to share this amazing story that happened to me and my baby last summer of 2006. My family and I decided to get together and go to the new house of my Auntie in Batangas Province. Actually it was I who arranged everything. I contacted all my other relatives for that. We are all excited. Things are all set... But suddenly, many changes of plans happened, from the date of departure, time and all... Seems like our schedules were not meeting. Finally, they all agree with specific date... Unfortunately, my husband is not available to the scheduled days. I was so sad and disappointed... The sad feeling become stronger when the scheduled date came, especially the meeting place was in our house... They are all asking if I am really not going. The van is on the way to pick them up, but I still have time to fix my things as they said... My husband saw that sadness in me. He called his office and filed an emergency leave. For no reason, I said to my husband... no it is okay. Knowing that he is already not going to work and his leave were granted already, I just don't know why suddenly I lose interest. But in my heart I know that I have a burning desire...
Ideas on how to raise a baby to be bilingual?
HI I am seeking Mylot users help today ... I was wondering if anyone had tips and how-to's about how to raise a baby in a bilingual family> My husband speaks English, I speak French, so I would like my son to be bilingual when he grows up. What are the best methods? What do you think about it? Do you think I should stick to the old idea of "one parent one language "? Do you think It can confuse the child if he hears his mummy speak both languages?Any idea is welcome Thank you in advance

The early bird gets the worm .. or does it?
I was drinking a cup of coffee early this morning and watching the wild birds searching in the grass for worms and grubs to feed their young ones with ..Suddenly a blackbird pounced and pulled out of the grass an enormous worm .. at least a foot long .. one of the hatchlings quickly scurried over to get the feast from it's mum .. Without waiting for mum to chop up the worm the baby bird snatched it from mum and started swallowing .. and swallowing .. and swallowing .. fascinated I wondered how such a small bird could cope with such a long worm .. What a racket the mother bird was making .. jumping up and down in front of the hatchling .. the baby bird appeared to be trying to wipe the worm out of it's mouth .. the mother bird kept trying to snatch it but the baby bird wasn't going to let go of it's breakfast prize ...Several minutes went by .. squawking .. frantic flapping and much jumping up and down later .. I decided the poor baby bird must be choking by now .. so I grabbed my Marigolds .. and dashed outside at a fast hobble (I'm mobility disabled!) ..The mother bird flew into the hedge and harangued me .. the baby bird stopped dead ... I crept closer .....
